I recall some discussion about this cross In a past thread. Have any pollinators pulled off this cross? If so how are they doing? I have just found a good pollen source and we are going to give it a try.

Hi Erik,

This is an old post but a great question, did you learn if this hybrid has been developed. Syagrus Botryophora is probably the most attractive queen in my opinion. A hybrid with Butia Yatay or Jubaea as the mother would be a dream palm.

Nice Syagrus B. I see that it is north of the old Monkey Jungle. Hope some of those monkeys escaped because you may need one to help get pollen from that palm.

Addison Mizner had the first Monkey Jungle north  of the Miami Monkey Jungle. Monkeys are all over the place down here but they hide very well…
