One of our Tabebuia heptaphylla, now known as Handroanthus heptaphyllus, is flowering now. This one normally flowers heavy anywhere from Sept. to Nov. then sometimes a very light bloom in early spring. It flowered heavily last fall and a light bloom in spring, now heavy again. It is a young tree, about 6 years old, grown from seed off our older tree. The older tree has a few flowers right now. Wonder if it will flower heavy this fall ?

Very nice Eric. I thought the heptophylla name was lumped into impetiginosa. They keep changing things so much in this (these) genus that I have not kept track. Do you know what the story is now?

So many species,

so little time.

Its been placed back as a valid species. Dr. Lorenzi told me thats one of the ways to tell it apart as it flowers at a different time.
