I can't believe the brightness of the red in this brom. Supposedly, it's pretty rare. Resembles a Hoh. castellanosii I think...

Justin it certainly looks very similar to Hohenbergia Cas but is indeed a stunning Aechmea Ampla, must be very rare, ive never seen one for real, only brom forums and now yours, Beautiful plant. Pete

There were several for sale at the Bromeliad Extravaganza this past weekend in Daytona.

I actually got one in trade.
