I'm so happy with my little trio of Chamaedorea tuerckheimii palms. Maybe, just maybe, some day they'll be big enough to bloom and IF I I have both sexes I'll have a chance at more. By then maybe I'll be able to spell their name correctly without the need to double check. They are in pretty much shade and nature takes care of them.

Yes, they are in the mountains of western PR. I take no credit for growing them as once they are planted they are on their own, except for vine removal 3-4 times a year. Thanks for all your nice comments.

Whoa, those are the best looking Cham. tuercks I've seen. I've had my 2 for 13 months now. Will never plant them; 1g pots are their homes. I fret all summer that FL heat will get them but they seem happy living on a shelf under the front awning. One of them is flowering - so cute. But I've read they don't produce viable seed out of habitat because there is no pollinator.

You should certainly be proud of your success growing these in pots and seeing one flower! Congratulations!

Holey Cow. Best I have ever seen thats for sure. I am thinking tha your garden may be able to suport some very interesting and hard to grow palms. Ceroxylon?

Yeah, but where to get a Ceroxylon???? That's the question!

I got 3 baby Ceroxylons from Floribunda awhile back and ruthlessly planted them as per my usual. They had all disappeared by our next visit. I'm certainly willing to try again as they should have been potted up and spoiled awhile before abandoning them in the jungle! However, most everything else has done well despite my lack of knowledge...
