Accompany Dave. B) Beautiful palms, wonderful pics.

But excuse me, Olivier ... you are living in La Réunion ... and do not share photos of YOUR special palm? The Acanthophoenix? Cannot believe this.

PS: This palm could be a motivation to move to La Réunion. Yes.

Wow, handsome young palms indeed. Jack Hobbs, once my boss when I was in Auckland, always said that potting mix and soil are the first thing to take into account for success. It doesn't mean that other elements are not important, but that it comes first. And I have the feeling that these lucky babies grow in a perfect medium.

May I ask you what do you use, in which proportions? I noticed just a bit of perlite but quite a lot of scoria (there's plenty on La Réunion, like here actually). Anything else?

Félicitation! Keep posting so we could see their progress. Sure it's gonna be fantastic.

I just use a mix of good mould (1/2), soil and scoria, and only scoria above to prevent growing grass. Nothing else :winkie:

The only one of those I have is Phoenicophorium borsigianum, about the same size. They're all looking great.
