The B. armata will be planted in an exposed location with lots of sun,no canopy there and the Brahea themselves will be part of the eventual partial canopy. That part of the garden will mostly have Caribbean palms and island plants with a sandy topsoil for that extra island feel :)

I do take you on that challenge but it will be a year or more before i can start planting there. Plus, growing these Brahea there should be a walk in the park,just plant and watch grow :)

If your clara is slow, it's not a clara, but more likely aculeata.

...well, the seed source is RPS, about six years ago...

...now start to show some withish tint in the leafs..., armatas from the same order are twice size

strange..., i buyed one brahea as aculeata seedling three years ago, and grows well and relatively fast

Pure aculeata is slow, aculeata hybrids are fast, and are often sold as regular aculeata. Nuri for example is fast.

I like B pimo... though never seen one for sale (nor have I ever seen B moorei offered).

perhaps is an hibrid, very whitish color...

nitida and super silver don´t have thorns..., decumbens only at petiole base...

brahea Pimo underside leaf is awesome!!!
