A nice 30'+ tree probably peaking yesterday, near South St and Palo Verde Ave. Dunno how many blooms will remain after today's storm...

Such a beautiful tree! There's several big trees which bloom like this here in my neighborhood. You'd be surprised how well they hold on to their flowers during stormy weather.

My Handroanthus heptaphyllus is now in its typical second blooming season of the year, which usu. has fewer flowers than the spring bloom. It appears to be different than H. impetigninosus (see discussion: https://selectree.calpoly.edu/tree-detail/1373 ) and exhibits the serrate leaf margins.
