The first photo was taken exactly 4 years ago. That's Al Bredeson (Al in Kona) and Jerry Andersen (jdapalms) along with Alexander (our host). The photo was taken just before the start of the Costa Rican Biennial in 2008.

Same palm today. That's Jorge (he works for Alexander) standing next to it. Sometimes Jorge accompanies me with a machete when I go down into the forest looking for seeds. Alexander is always worried I will run into a snake. :unsure:

Thanks Gyuseppe. It's growing in a perfect location with abundant water and good soil. I can't believe how much it has grown in 4 years.
