I bought these seedlings as Zamia Imperialis but now that they are getting bigger I was expecting their leaflets to be wider and more rounded.

When I looked in the internet I read that Zamia hamanii also had red emergent leaves and from the few pictures available their leaflets are suppose to be thin and long. I was wondering if these seedlings of mine are actually Z Hamannii.

Can anyone know for sure?

Gene, given the rarity of Z. hamannii and the difficulty of obtaining seeds, I would have to say that if you bought them as Z. imperialis then they probably are that species. I agree that the leaflets should be a bit wider, but there is variation in all species. Add to that the inherent variability in cultivation (amount of light, fertilizer, soil type, etc.), and it becomes difficult to know for sure sometimes. I would wait a little longer to see what happens as they get larger.

Update on the mystery Zamias--

One of them just pushed out really cool looking red/bronze leaves. The individual leaf is about 5 feet long now -- but this is still a juvenile plant I suppose

But the leaflets are still narrow and sort of bend at the end.

Still doesn't look like the Imperialis/Skinerrii leaflets shapes that I see in the net-- wide and fat.

and actually resembles the pictures of Hamannii which are more on the narrow side.
