Coccothrinax Azul - in CA, South FL or shippable

I'm looking for a Coccothrinax Azul to add to my collection. I will be in South Florida in a couple of weeks, so if anyone here on the board from there has some or knows of some, please let me know. 3 gallon size would be preferred since I'll be travelling and can't bring anything large home.

I've checked most of the southern california nurseries for these, but if anyone knows of any, please let me know.

Finally, if anyone has a 3 gallon size and is willing to ship, that would work as well.

Thanks!

You might want to call Steve Stern from Exotic Palms in Homestead. When I was there a year or so ago he had some but couldn't tell you what size or price since I wasn't in the market for them.

Fallbrook J, give Ken Johnson a call, he's the King of Cocos.

He'll set you up.

Another name for this palm that will make it easier for you to locate is Coccothrinax macroglossa.I see several South Florida nurseries show availability, but specifically for a 3 gallon,Caribbean Palms has them listed for $65.

Going thru alot of Florida rainstorms and humidity, they probably will not be as blue as they would be in a drier environment.Pic is of one in my backyard.I think it looks alot like boschiana, except boschiana doesn't complete a full circle with the frond.

Leo - Thanks for the tip, I reached out to him but he only had larger sizes for sale.

Dave - thanks for the tip about Ken.

Scott - thanks for letting me know that it also goes by Macroglossa. And since I am already stopping by Caribbean Palms, that makes it nice and easy! Your's looks great by the way!

As long as you're down there, and if you have any room left, let me recommend 1 more palm to you. (where have you heard that before  ) If you don't have a Coccothrinax montana,it's time to get one! They are really ornamental with the thick, rough,"burlap" covering the trunk and they grow several new fronds per year, yet manage to stay on the small side.

The tiny one is C borhidiana and the one behind it is a Thrinax radiata.

Here's a pic of the whole caribbean island. There is also an azul in there too! Pseudophoenix vinifera centered.
