My Bizzie has been through some hard times and every time has pulled through.

This pic was taken in Feb. 2009 right after the record freeze. It hadn't been in the ground very long so surely, I thought, it was a goner.

In 2010 we got another freeze; here it is in March right after the freeze. Surely that color cannot be a good sign.

Again, it recovered. Then in a strong wind during Feb. 2011, the thing blew over. Uh oh, Bizzie's don't like having their roots disturbed...surely, this will kill it. But we stood it back up and trimmed off some leaves.

And here it is today, still going after all these obstacles! It's tougher than I thought it would be.

I know that palm! (and, if I recall correctly, it's also a very special palm...) Really great to see it doing so well -- awesome color and MUCH bigger than the last time I saw it (and I'm sure it's just loving the current rainy weather, as well).

My Bismarkia in my previous garden blew over like yours when it was young and I have noticed that they do have a habit of blowing over when they are young especially in sandy soils.....once staked up they strengthen their root systems and never look back.

Beautiful palm. When we got our first Bizzie, the stem was so wobbly we had to stake it for 2 years to keep it from keeling over. Now it's a monster that still slaps me upside the head with a low-hanging frond.
