This plant is native to Southern China, appears to be endangered, and I cannot find any useful information about it.

Anyone have experience with this genus?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with this species.

I have taken a couple of photos. The tree has stopping shedding leaves after the transplant and is growing new ones. It is very soothing to watch it in the breeze after working in the garden.

Flower (looks like a male) starting yesterday....much sooner than I thought it would be....kind of disappointing for a relative of the 'Orchid Tree'.

Picture is out of focus, just like me!

Is that flower bluish or white?

Bauhinia grandidieri is a very attractive blue-flowered, small-leafed species that takes some cold.

Ken,

The flower is pure white.....and lasts one day, at least in this iteration. The flower is no larger than 1/2 inch across and I am getting more each day. Hopefully, once this plant has totally recovered and has more branches, the flowering will be a bit more impressive. However, I am more fascinated with the leaves, opening in the morning, closing in the afternoon, and always quivering in the breeze.....very unlaxing!
