Hello metallica fans, whilst in the big smoke yesterday on business matters, I called in to a favorite watering hole to imbibe with a couple of mates. As I was leaving the premises I was stopped agog at the exit by this wonderful pot of split leaf Chammie metallica. Thought I'd take a pic with my phone and show it here, I hope you like.

Why not show all your own split leaf metallicas.

Are you sure this is not C. elegans (palour palm) Wal??

I would have thought it pretty rare to see a multi potted C. metallica split leaf??

Fairly certain it was a Metallica Ben, I was very very surprised, but I will be back there for a work reunion late July to confirm, before drinks ... :)

I was going to ask about buying it off them...

If there is any chance it is the split leaf metallica I would take in a largish palour palm and ask if they are happy to do swap, wouldn't cost you much.

I was trying to post a photo of our split leaf metallica but my computer is not being very accomodating this afternoon?

Bens correct Wal, yours certainly isnt a split leaf Metallica.( split leaf Metallica looks just like Metallica with upright split leaves)

Below is another Palm some call split leaf Metallica but its not a Split Leaf Metallica is Chamaedorea Adscendens which is rare and tiny. Ours is fully grown and it only has a trunk of 1ft, the leaves are very very thick thick and grey.

Another great palm off the "Late Great Rich Trapnell" many years ago.

I stand corrected. There was this seemingly metallic sheen going on you see, the light and everything, ah but those last two pots were heavies I suppose.

Moving on....
