Any updates on a predator for this nasty whitefly? I just noticed a few "spirals" on the underside of one of my Prichardia leaves. I can easily wash it off with a stream from the hose, but it's the ones i don't readily see that concerns me. I just want to stay ahead of it.

I already put down some Imidacloprid as a preventative for some crotons beneath the palms. My question is, if a predator only feeds on the whitefly, would a systemic affect the predator.

That's what a lot of people are wondering and asking. I suspect that the predators will be affected and that eventually a balance will have to happen where we can eliminate pesticides altogether and the predators will do their job.

Maybe there can be a gangfight with the gophers and they can all take each other out... :D

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

:) That's silly, gophers don't climb trees.

I guess my question is.... If I use a systemic, can I still introduce a natural predator that would kill the whitefly & not be affected by a "poison" circulating thru the foliage or is it futile?

Not a "preditor" but I have heard tell, but have not tried, to grow Nicandra Physaloides (apple of Peru) in the areas afffected...it is said to prevent or kill white fly.

Cause lies don't need an aero plane / To chase you anywhere
