Hi everyone,

I have tried many, many times purchasing seeds of these two plants on eBay and various online seed retailers but have had 0% germination. I think with the Ficus it's probably a case of non-viable seeds as I've germinated other species of Ficus with no problem. I understand these figs need a specific wasp to pollinate them. Does anyone know of a reliable source of viable seed?

With the Philodendron, I'm not aware of a particular insect needed for pollination so perhaps I've just been supplied with old, unviable seed on previous occasions. Has anyone had experience growing this plant from seed and what was your source?

Will happily pay for seed and shipping if you're certain it's viable seed :mrlooney:

Thanks in advance.

That's good to know Erik. If you have some spare I'd happily buy some from you. I'll contact you around July/August maybe?

Sure thing Josh. Here is the hybrid Selloum we will be pollinating. I had some seeds left over from last year but these need to be fresh to get good germination. If you prefer the regular one I can do that as well.

I'm hoping to get some Philodendron seeds from Erik but still no leads on Ficus auriculata/roxburghii :bemused:

I'm also interested in getting seeds or seedlings of this Philodendron.

These seeds will be as fresh as they get. For germination I recommend Putting anywhere from 5 to 10 seeds per cell. Do not cover the seeds with soil. Do not drench with water. Get yourself a mist bottle and mist them around 4 times a day. You should get atleast 70% germination rate doing it this way.

I'm ordering seeds from Erik so if anyone in the UK/EU is interested, contact me. As the minimum order is 1000 seeds, I'm sure I'll have a few spare! :mrlooney:
