I’m hoping this is the year that they start pollinating themselves, or at the very least let the spindle palm 15 ft away or so do it!

A very nice So Cal Bottle! I note it is growing in some overhead shade. Mine is also growing under some overhead canopy and has a sight curve in the trunk as if it is looking for more light. I have a smaller Spindle just to the right. Hoping to get some hybrid seeds one day!

Is this a bottle palm? There’s a good amount of these more tropical palm trees in north park sd but I’m not good at identifying palm trees

I don’t think so, to me it looks like a mature Ravenea Rivularis.
