My beaver tail cactus is going into bloom. This has the most vivid pink flowers I've ever seen. It's just getting started too. It has a bunch more buds waiting to pop but I got excited and posted early.

Boy, those are really beautiful! Ahhh, I remember my days in the desert when I used to grow cactus, bloom time was happy time.

Cacti have some of the most amazing, colorful flowers of anything. I really like hedgehog cactus flowers, brilliant color, somewhat translucent. Actually these beaver tail cactus show some of the same features. I think many people don't realize how beautiful cacti can be. Too bad the flowers are always so short lived.

Corpus Christi, TX, near salt water, zone 9b/10a! Except when it isn't and everything gets nuked.
