Palm ID - bluish fan palm

Here are some pictures of this palm, I have no idea what it is. Notice the silver/blue waxy covering on the palm:

the petioles are barely armed, almost not visible.

My guess is livistona of some sort?

Note: I do have a livistona languinosa, the waxy cabbage palm, but it doesn't look anything like this specimen.

It's a nice looking palm. I can say that much. Any chance of getting a closer look at the armor and base? Where is it at? Looks closer to sabal than livi to me. But the leaves look pretty flat too?

I'll take some better pics tomorrow. The leaves are flat, so it's definitely not brahea. The leaf form doesn't ressemble any sabals I know of. It's got the same papery texture that sabal bermudana has but it doesn't have the same leaf form as a sabal. the way the petiole and the leaf join is very much similar to a livistona.

Can we also get a pic of the base? Call me stupid but it looks like a Trachycarpus fortunei that doesn't have enough sun so its kind of green blue.

Grateful to have what I have, Les amis de mes amis sont mes amis!

Definitely not trachycarpus, this one is in full sun except late afternoon. I have some trachys in more shade than this one, not at all similar. I'll post close ups tomorrow.

I think it'sTrithrinax schizophylla. I'll post my sabal minor pic so you see the difference.

I would say sabal minor. I don't think that T. schizophylla (or any Trithrinax?) has the fibers between the leaf segments that your plant appears to have.

The palm has armed petioles and does not have a heel. It's definitely not a sabal, not a heeled palm. Petioles are armed but not very prominent. Leaves have waxy coating. Fronds have a papery feel to them. Not in sabal family, not in brahea family and not in trachycarpus family.

Closeup of the base, note that this palm is holding on to the dead smaller lower fronds. The fiber is not the same as trachycarpus, and there isn't any blue trachy that I've ever heard of.

There is no heel, this palm never had a heel.

Notice the armed petioles. You can feel the prickles when running across with a finger. Seems it would actually cut into the skin with enough pressure.

I agree with tank. Looks like brahea. Maybe decumbens or more likely dulcis. Doesn't look like a livi IMO

Here's a photo I swiped off the web of dulcis. Looks very close.

Could be Brahea Dulcis blue form. It was on the list.

B. dulcis is SLOW growing for me here in the southeast. Slower than decumbens. I would like to compare mine to yours, but we may have to wait a decade.

Steve, I think you may be right, it really does look a lot like a Brahea Dulcis blue form. I had ruled out brahea because I don't remember ordering a brahea from Gary but what the heck, the pictures don't lie, but my memory probably does. Dang, it sure is beautiful!

Tank, Braheas grow pretty fast here. This one, if it's even a brahea dulcis, started from a very small palm only 3 years ago. You can see it outgrew its vole basket. Could it be the diurnal temperature fluctuations we have?

Thanks to everyone for your help on the ID for this plant. I am pretty sure it's brahea dulcis blue. Looks identical and the ID keys match.
