Hello everybody,

I would like to ask you if you someone have experience with growing Euterpe. What temperatures and air conditions it needs to have fruit? And how old palm starts having fruit? Here in Czech Republic are some corporations which sell those seeds and I want to know something more.

Thanks for replies!

I ordered gallon seedling from JM @floribunda in November.

Regret to say it did not survive our SoCal winter.

Eut.edulis even smaller than the oleracea is surviving and growing outdoors and acclimating.

Once I found small Euterpe in a flowers-shop, it seems it can grow indoor like a D.lutescens. but it's always about juvenile palms! no fruit!

You can't grow it outdoor.

Andrew, I have a few of these growing in my very warm coastal garden. The are growing in a shady spot, if I were to plant them again I would give them a little more sun, they're about four years old, clustering, 9 feet tall, grown from seed. They have not given me any fruit yet. Beautiful palms and probably the fastest ones I have on the property.
