Sabal Uresana in Northern California

Ok, time for some sabal porn. Here is a beautiful sabal uresana growing in Waterford. it's even much bluer than in the picture. If you can't grow a bismarck, this is the next best thing!

I have been told by the owner that this thing took 21F in the Central Valley in 2007 with 15 hours below freezing and it didn't even flinch. The Washingtonias defoliated in the same freeze.

nice sabal! Lots of variation in the blue color on uresanas. there are some that are really blue, but not many. But even the blue/green ones are beautiful to my eye. One of my favorite sabals. And I think they are even more cold tolerant than 21F.

Formerly in Gilbert AZ, zone 9a/9b. Now in Palmetto, Florida Zone 9b/10a??
