Bonsai Palms, lets see how they change characteristics.

Walking down the street in Danang, Vietnam, and came across these bottles, that look like spindles !

The confinement of the roots to such a small pot has not stopped these palms from growing trunks and they are quite healthy.

Danang is 16 deg North. They are not rooted in the ground. It is a paved area.

Nearby in Na Trang I saw this flowering bottle outside my hotel. Na trang is about 12 degrees north

Definitely subtropical humid and the most common palms grown here are Adonidia...... or is it called Veitchia, but Hyophorbe lagencaulis is very very common and fruits profusely.

So have you seen palms with radically changed characteristics in pots which are way too small, and they have been confined too long

maybe with a reduced head of leaves , or a thin trunk ?.
