Elena Beare, all the way from Uruguay, has been part of the IPS family since 1994, and she and her husband George have attended six biennials - that's some serious dedication! Elena's journey into the world of palms began when she transitioned from floral design to landscaping. This shift sparked her love for palms, and she took the plunge by purchasing a farm for palm production. Now, she's the proud caretaker of more than 2000 Butias, queen palms, and Washingtonias covering two lush acres. Her mission? To kickstart a Uruguay palm society affiliate and contribute to the preservation of the world's largest natural stand of Butia capitata in Rocha, Uruguay. Kudos to Elena for her green thumb and passion for palms!
