Finally pushing through the bud rot, don't know why the newest frond slready opened.

The center spear has 2 inches of disease free growth under the rot.

Actually nothing, when I noticed it I posted a pic of it on here and another meber said it looks like it was pushing through it on its own and he was right. I did use hydrogen peroxide once but don't think I needed to this time. Hydrogen peroxide is what a lot of people seem to use, I got bud rot in my pony tail palm and I used it on regular basis and it started growing a new spear. I actually had spear pull on that one

Great to see good progress Steve,seems you are caring well for it!!! :)

My Bismarckia's always open their leafs when they have pushed around halfway out so I would say its normal and probably did that because its now getting more light and has better growing conditions!
