From previous and countless threads, we already know the benefits of mulching, shade cloth, ideal planting soil mix and most recently, the avid use of pee/urine by our most experienced members.

I know most of us here in SoCal are growing palms in marginal climates and growing conditions.

Secondly we are also growing palms with very slooooow growth rates possibly because we are growing them in less than optimum conditions,,,hence the slow growth and a real test to our patience.

Other than hybridizing and cross pollenation, it would be great if we can feed our palms

something like a Red Bull, Monster Energy Drink, Vitamin B1 & Superthrive so we can increase the palms rate of metabolism and photosynthesis and possibly also, to make them more resistant to desease as well to cold and heat tolerance. A Superman Palm?

Any thoughts and anyone like to share their patent with us?

Cheers.

PS. For those of us who like pictures......>>>> :interesting:

I think some organic growers add molasses to the growing medium ....

You do realize that red bull and monster are bad for you, right? Healthy diet, rest, exercise is to us as Sun, heat, moisture, well balanced fertilizer is to palms.

There was in the market two decades ago something spelled like ecosane or ecosun or similiarly. It used to boost significantly growth during warm season but palms after this treatment were entering cold season tender with absolutely no survival possibility.

....possibly start early in the growing season?

Couldnt they have protected and moved the palms indoors?

I really don't know because I had not built yet my cold frame.

I recommend dolomite and iron sulfate to green up a lot of yellow palms. But don't push your palms, more palms get killed from being pushed. If you have small seedlings you want to get bigger faster build yourself a hot house.

I know the veterans are using it.

Please share with us your results? your feedback+/-?

Does it work? Is it worth the price or would you rather just forgetaboutit?

Superthrive uses only 1 mL or quarter of a teaspoon per gallon.

Root or foliar feed or both?

Happy growing everyone :D
