Botanic garden of Universitas Carolina in Prague

Hello everybody,

I've visited this botanic garden today and I want to share some photos.

Trithrinax brasiliensis

Caryota mitis

Caryota ready to flower:

Phoenix roebelenii

Chamaedorea martiana

And here are some cycads which really impressed me, they must be hundreds of years old.

These are not all interesting plants that were there, I've chosen only few. You can come to Prague and visit these gardens too!

Is this Botanic garden of Universitas Carolina a second botanic garden in Prague? it seems to be very interesting ...

Nice palm collection, which Latania was it?

Philippe,

This botanic garden is mainly for students and for people which are really interested. A big difference between this and the first one is, that the Fata Morgana is made to interest people, often you can't find name of the plant, it is made to look good. This one is more academic.

Sorry that I don't know the second name of Latania, I don't want to guess.

We have only one botanic garden in Geneva, Prague is definitely a lucky town, but no lake there!

we don't have a lake but we have a river!

I would like to study there one day, there are some other parts of the greenhouse which are closed for public.

If is someone planning to visit Prague, I can make him a guide!
