Now this Beautiful Boo Gigantochloa maxima is getting size and the stunning stripes are much more prevalent .

The added shot with boot between culms is fresh clean culms of Black Asper which colours with age, its a spectacular Giant Bamboo which actually takes up little space on the ground and is a very vertical giant. :) Pete

Looks great Pete, I seem to recall some confusion on it's name, depending on which nursery you visit.

Yes your right Wal, this isnt Pseudorundinacea or Maxima, its actually Verticilliata which is more open and culms rougher rather than shiny very smooth Pseudo/Max. Pseudo Max we have here doesn't grow to its potential, it seems a tropical lover, thanks for name "recall" for me..I havnt had my "triple shot" yet :) Pete

Gigantochloa V is also inside Kews conservatory, its the tallest plant they have inside.
