The leaves on this volunteer weed is really nice and sweet, can anyone ID? The leaves close up like this in the evening. And the leaves are very sticky.

The leaves are pretty large and sometimes you get lucky with a weedy plant that might turn out to be something special.

Now I’m wondering if its some type of biannual plant, leave this year, flowers next season.

If it is a Dutura that would be cool…. B)

Definitely not Datura. It looks like a skunk cabbage.

Thanks BF, but its definitely Not skunk cabbage. Skunk cabbage like very wet soil or standing water. Seen lots of those in the wild.

This is more a warm season plant because it din’t come up till June.

B.F. I can see why you thought it was skunk cabbage cause it looks a lot like eastern ones.

So it is a tobacco plant does that mean I can roll it and smoke it…? NOT that I smoke cigarette.

I’ll take a pic of it when it blooms. Its all ready showing signs of a flower or flowers on top.

Thanks everyone, this is exciting for me, can’t wait to see what it will look like in bloom.

Mr.G it does look a lot like Horseradish!

Looks to have a central stem going up, so I'll say not horseradish.

I should start my own tobacco company with this plant…leaves are 22” long and smells really good. Can’t wait for those flowers and looks like there will be lots of flowers.
