Please check this pic.

Is this leaf colour showing a deficiency?

It has only just started to appear.

Could it also be caused by an insect?

Any advice on solving this would be much appreciated.

Jim

I'll let the experts weigh in, but it seems like bug damage to me.

Thanks Keith.

Thanks Keith.

So where are the experts?

I guess they are too busy. I grabbed your photo and sent it to one of our state's top horticulture experts (a friend) as a double check. He usually responds back within 24 hours so I'll let you know what comes back.

Looks different than the typical leaf miners we get eh Keith?

You are right, definitely not leaf miners. If it was here I would swear Leaf footed bug, piercers, even they don't bother my Citrus, they do something similar to everything else, including fruit itself. I shot that picture over to Dan Gill. He is great about emails, so I expect to hear back from him in no time.

This is what came back from my friend.

"Unfortunately, this looks like citrus canker. This destructive new bacterial disease just showed up in the south shore New Orleans area this summer. See the attachment and a column I did back in July."

I had to reassure him it was not me. Send me your email address, and I will forward the documents he sent me. If this is what it is, be very careful with this.
