Is anyone growing these unusually beautiful gingers? I have a few pictures to share and I would love to see others.

#1 Globba schomburgkii - Yellow Dancing Lady, #2 Globba alba - White Dragon, #3 Globba sp. - Green Dragon and #4 Globba winitii - Pink Dancing Lady.

Beautiful, I have never seen them before, but I shall have to find the yellow one for my wife.

Thanks Keith. I got the yellow dancing lady at Tejas Tropicals. I hope you find one for your wife; I'm sure she will love it.

It is my understanding that these are cold hardy to zone 8. They will die to the ground in winter but will return in mid to late summer. The blooms last for months. The pink dancing lady blooms are the first to show up in the summer and they were a much brighter pink. They are starting to wimp out now so they are looking a little pale in the picture. The yellow dancing lady is the last to bloom.

Scott, your Globba is beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

It looks like it has shorter/thinner leaves and a shorter bloom. Do you know the name and where you got it?

Karen, The name is Ruby and was picked up at the July USF plant sale. The lady selling them told me she would be back selling at the fall sale. I am pleased with the performance of this Ginger and the two Peacock types purchased from her.

Yay! I'll look for it at the plant sale.
