Ever seen the back of a new Howea forsteriana leaf ?, you have now.

Dypsis carlsmithii, yeh I know, a bit of grass removal required. This is going well at a reasonable pace for one of these type of palms, highly recommend this baby.

Hi Wal

Here is a photo Teresa  has just taken of the dark form of D. Pembana the photo of the common form at the same size was not clear enough so I will have to take one more.

I think Jeff. S. also wanted to have a look as well?  ???

Hope you don’t mind me listing here as there would only be two photos not enough to start new topic.

This is what your one should look like after 6 months in the ground its quite dark don't you think?

All the best hope you guys got heaps of rain we have. Ps I will put A photo of the dam full in your travel logs.

Clayton. :)

Wal:

That Micro soft windows vista works great. My dang seeds here refuse to germinate

Another difficult palm for me here is Veitchia winin. The cousings joannis and montgomeryana grow twice as fast in the same conditions. I remember RLR used to comment that he hasn't had much luck with them either. Did you start it from early age? Can we see the whole crown, please.

Hi Gileno

I planted that winin when it was about 6 feet tall, a trunk had formed already. Not my usual go, buying/planting palms that big but that was the only winin for sale at the time. It has not grown as fast as the other veitchias I have, it's kicking on now though, very much. This is the south side of my house in a narrow strip of property from next door. It is to next door that I had to take these photographs otherwise I couldn't capture it. I took a few others while I was there.

Hi Frank

Not sure on that one, we get short winters here so I'm not that big on data collection. I am in an average Sub Tropical zone on the edge of warm I would think.
