Variegated White Bird of Paradise, Variegated Giant Bird of Paradise (Strelitzia Nicolai 'variegata')

This is a huge 25g tree that is a perfect source for seeds and suckers. Currently in a 25 galling pot so it would obviously need to me picked up. I estimate it to be 12-14 feet tall.

Located in Huntington Beach, Ca

Asking $400

I'll be there in a few days. Wonder if it will fit in the overhead bins on the plane?

Hmmm, maybe, you might have to gate check it.

I have a couple of the smaller non trunking variegated orange birds, Strelitzia reginae, that would fit.

It just sold over the weekend, thanx fir looking everyone!

I should have some babies soon, I have another clump that's in the ground that has a flower so I should have some seedlings by summer.

I do have a couple Orange Bird seedlings available now, Strelitzia reginae, that are in 1 gallons. They have different amounts of variegation that range from a single leaf to every leaf, prices are anywhere from $20-80 depending on quality.

Very cool !!!! I have never seen another one.

We have one here at Leu Gardens. A grower found it amongst hundreds he was growing and gave it to us. It has been in the ground about 12 years. It has been a slower grower, the main trunk is about 15ft tall with several secondary trunks, all variegated. At first it tried to grow lots of green suckers but we pruned these off. Now it doesn't try to sucker much. I have never gotten a variegated offshoot off of it.

Now I want to see a variegated Travelers Tree !

My buddy just has a vari travelers. I'm sure he will read this post, maybe he will post a pic or two <hint, hint>. It's absolutely an amazing tree, certainly a jaw dropper.

I love variegated trees. I know some people don't like them but there's something about having a 'one of a kind' tree that continues to draw me in. I have 30-40 species now that are variegated and I swear I see something new and cool every time I walk my garden (which is basically everyday).
