Maybe I missed the announcement of it's departure, But I sure miss it. Any chance of it being reinstated?

Thanks,

Scott

PS:- Thanks for all the great work you do on the Forum!

Scott,

All of the old posts in that forum were moved in to the main one. The problem was a lot of the topics there could have just as well been posted in the main. And as much as I don't understand why, there are many members that never go to the "lesser viewed" forums. So those types of topics receive more attention and replies when posted under the main "Discussing Palm Trees Worldwide." Also, it opened up a "slot" for the Freeze Info forum which seems to be getting a lot of use (unfortunately).

Thanks to those of you who help make this a fun and friendly forum.

Even i miss that sub division in our forum  :(

the result all the post are moving so fast that i could

hardly read most of the days new post.so now i visit

only the threads who's topic starter whom i know or

is the discussion related to my favouriate palms involved.

the joy of relaxed surfing through the pages is gone for ever.

and i have other work to attend,so i cannot remain in front

of the monitor throught the day ? so some lovely post are

all missed by all !

until and unless if some one just bumps it up !

God i have started to feel that iam growing old since i cannot keep up with Dean's speed.  :(

Kris - I agree. What was posted this morning seems like it's a page behind in short time. The relaxed aspect you mentioned does seem to have gone. Also if seeking advice, your post becomes so low on the scale of things so quickly.

I miss it too...  :(  The other day I needed some info someone posted about how he recovered palms that were in the root rot downhills, in an emergency. A search for that topic was futile...

IMO that part of the forum was one of the most useful and important, specially for a beginner looking for valuable info.

I must admit, it was very usefull to me also. The topics on the main forum go by so quickly and are soon 3 or 4 pages down. It would be nice to have it back, in my opinion. Well we can't have everything we want, so I will make due with what we have! (untill it gets restored) :D   ???

Dear guys

the height of speed was seen when cold wave struck U.S.A

when all the first 4 threads were pertaining to only cold wave.and rest of the topics just vanished into oblivian !

i felt that even that cold wave did need a special sub division instead of mixing them with general palm topic division.

Since ours is a international forum with divigerent geographical locations with divigerent vegitation.we must

not reduce the sub divisions.since i did not have any cold or

hot air blowing in my region but i was made to see & read these threads since it was in the main discussion board.

for a person like me (a non nursery guy) the cold wave &

soils & fertilizer, pest was of less priority to daily reading

in my main discussion board.

i hope our opnions are heard and prey to the board that

some turn around is made in this regard.and just few

members have welcomed this move of shifting.but the

mass iam shure find it difficult to cope up with.

Wish to see some change in days to come.i hope to hear

similar opnions of other members in this thread..

Thanks in advance & Love,

Kris(Now waiting to see changes_Please !)

love conquers all..

Just so you guys know I read your comments and consider them, let me respond.

When we had a seperate section for soils, pests, etc, I constantly heard complaints from members that their posts did not receive many responses when placed there. In several instances they tried posting the same thread in the main forum and received the feedback they were looking for.

As much as I wish it was not so, many members (I would guess more than half) rarely go anywhere but the main forum. Is a separate forum with half the replies a better solution?

Regardless of how things are set up there will always be some that would prefer it the other way.

BTW --- If you guys are loosing posts because you feel they are moving down too fast, use the "topic tracker."

Thanks to those of you who help make this a fun and friendly forum.
