Thank you for all these series of excellent photos, Philippe.

It's pure joy.

One little question: what are the wild animals you usually see in this area?

Have you noticed if some feed on palms?

Or play another role with the palm species?

Sebastian,

I am sorry I can't have scientific answer:

I have seen humans, squirrels, rats, many birds, snakes and the results of porcupines and wild pigs , both destroying Thabit's palm collection (It seems they don't like exotic palms since they destroy only rare species).

The others help the seeds to travel, (Areca actechu, A, concinna, Caryota...)

Best regards

Philippe

I am like you Tyrone, I love Calamus. I used to have all of the Australian species in a previous garden.

Thanks for the answer. Don't bother with scientific names and details, Philippe, the information you gave is absorbing enough. It's a shame if wild pigs attack introduced palms, but I wonder if it's just a coincidence, or if it is something deliberate. If it is so, I never heard of anything similar with these animals, that would be quite interesting... :interesting:
