We just stumbled across a photo of one of the first things we planted four years ago. We didn’t really know anything about palms and planted some Big Box purchases on the slope across from our front door. I remember we bought the two 'lipstick palms' for a real bargain because one was dying. Some TLC and a lot of water and the Cyrtostachys renda recovered completely.

Four years later and things have filled in. The C. renda is now a small forest and everything else in the area is trunking. The trunk of a blue marble tree that wasn't even planted now shows in the current photo behind the palms. That tree is now nearly 60 feet tall.

Before and After pics are so amazing, especially when it's your own garden. Mike, thanks for the LARGE font, you are a champ for the 'grey palmers.'
