I have this Chambeyronia hookerii that looks pretty cool currently. I am wondering what might be causing this phenomenon though???

The leaf in the pic's is half red and half green due to the fact that half of the leaf opened about a week ago and the other half opened about 2 days ago.. I am not too fussed about it except for the fact that a Dypsis prestoniana about 3m away from it did the same thing recently, I am assuming this is not a coincidence??

Any idea's? Both are pretty happy and healthy palms except that the C. hookerii got a little burnt in our heat recently, I would have just put it down to the hookerii needing some chlorophyll action quick smart but the perfectly healthy dypsis that is holding many perfect leaves has me stumped.

Gold Coast, Queensland Latitude 28S. Mild, Humid Subtropical climate. Rainfall - not consistent enough!

That's a first for me. I like it, and certainly worthy for taking it's picture and sharing with us. Has this been the first time it's showed the half color?

I like it as well, interesting and unusual. That's the only input from me.
