Some palms from the coastal plane of Paraná - South Brazil

I took two weeks of my vacation and went with family to the beach in Guaratuba -state Paraná. The climate there at sea level is a humid subtropical and frost free. The vegetation of the Atlantic forest is luxuriant with many big trees, covered with aroids, bromeliads, orchids, ferns,lianas,etc.... There also grow some palms ,from emergent to palms that grows in the shade of the forest. There are several mounts (VERY old flatened mountains) and the coastal plane between them .Here you can see first the Morro (mount) do Cristo and 2nd Caieiras mount. 3rd Cristo mount where you see only somewhat stunted queens and 4th vieuw from the Cristo mount to the beach

Scrub vegetatin consisting of a mat of Dyckia sp and stunted queen growing on a few centimeters of soil.

Mature Euterpe edulis (palmito-juçara or juçara) are somewhat rare in the forests (because of ilegal palm heart harvesting in the past) but cultivated ones you can see everywhere. (More to come)
