Dypsis Prestonia

What is known about the mysterious Dypsis Prestonia? I have read the older forums and know about the root growth and ways to plant it and general info like what you might find on DG. What I am looking for is cultural requirements and ultimate hardiness. I am asking because in my bag of old seeds I have 100 D prestonia and almost all of them sink. They all won't germinate but a few should. How tough is this palm?

As far as cold tolerance these would most likely fold under 25 degrees...but as with a lot of things in life sometimes you just have to try and find out for yourself

I have never heard of dypsis prestonia. Is that a synonym for prestoniana? The latter is a 9b palm, I am doubtful that would survive for you. If you can grow Kentiopsis oliviformis you can grow prestoniana.

Oops my bad, I was on my phone and my eyes aren't fantastic anymore. Thanks for the save Axel. Yeah, I bought them five years ago and I am shocked that they still seem viable but I have stored them in an air tight enclosure ina contolled environment. It is a beautiful palm from the picures that I have seen and very unique. Forgot to respond to Olivaformis, I have one and love it. It is in a planter now but I might try it out. When we hit 22-23 which was the worst I saw this year I put it in the garage.
