This palm is being grown under an Oak in part sun/shade. The seeds were obtained from RPS as Fallaensis. Do you think it would show blue if were in full sun or do you think it would still be green? Any and all comments are welcome on the subject as well as thoughts on ID. Ken..... Jody........dale...... anyone let me know what you all think :)

I have several fallaensis--some way smaller and all are completely blue. Does not look like fallaensis to me...

Siriwat I believe it's from the 2009 batch of seeds from Rare Palm Seeds, but I have yet to confirm that.

Drew, I was thinking the same thing, but I'm certainly no authority on the subject, either way if I'm going to drop the coin, I gotta see blue!

I am not saying this would not grow into a gorgeous palm--Just doesn't look like a fallaensis. Still beats a bizzy all day long!

My space is so limited now I need to be picky lol, one of these days I'll find a nice blue Fallaensis that I can actually afford or at least justify spending the money on :) until then I'll just keep drooling over them :)

Jeff

I'll be seeing you and your place tomorrow :) I'm looking forward to it! Hopefully I'll bump into you and say hello :)

This is a palm I am offering. I purchased the seed from RPS last time they were offered.

I bought the seed as fallaensis, so I thought I would sell it as fallaensis.

It happens to the best. I bought three palms labeled one thing, and as they matured, they were actually something else.

....and that was from the guy who posted just above me.

Nice! Tomorrow Ryan and I will be in and around the shade houses. Being it's the second Friday, the crowds will be much less and we will have plenty of time spend with you. Please make sure you walk around and see all the palms planted in and around the nursery. I have a big C. fallaensis in the ground too.

Easy, Jeff--your class is showing...

I also got seeds from the last batch of C. fallaensis RPS was offering and the 2 seedlings that came out were blue. I managed to lose them though due to not knowing how to handle Copernicia at the time :crying:

Jeff, it was nice meeting you yesterday! Thanks for the tour and the time you spent showing us around the place and pointing out all of the great stuff you have in the ground! My mind was blown! Your place is spectacular! You should be very proud!!!!!!

Okie, nice seeing you on here! Pop that sucker in the sun and see if it turns blue! Sun is apparently a big factor in bringing out the blue. If it turns blue I'm all over it! I just can't roll the dice otherwise, hope you understand and no offense is taken, I'm still learning about all of this stuff so I tend to turn to the experts on PalmTalk for their input as I'm certainly no authority on any of the subjects! Lol seriously though pop that baby into the sun and I'll pray for blue!
