Or could somebody tell me what might be wrong with this palm.

What you are showing is not Ganoderma. That is not to say that you don't have it though. It looks like your royal had a severe Manganese deficiency which was partially corrected.

It looks like what you need is more water, and more fertilizer. Go get a good quality palm fert, something like 8-2-12. Then get some sulpomag 0-0-21 and a 2lb bag of Manganese sulfate. Soak your soil around your palm, put a sprinkler on it and put a good 2" of irrigation down (measure by placing a 2" deep cake pan there). The next day, broadcast in a donut shaped pattern around the palm (1 foot out to about 10' or 12') 5lbs of the palm fert, 5 lbs of the 0-0-21 and 2lbs of the manganese. Then water that in with a good half inch or so. Repeat the palm fert and 0-0-21 in July and October.

So many species,

so little time.

Coconut Creek, Florida

Zone 10b (Zone 11 except for once evey 10 or 20 years)

Last Freeze: 2011,50 Miles North of Fairchilds
