Is that a common palm in this area?

Pasul,

Not so,

It means that you can see this species mostly in front of houses on the roadside, as a signal, not in gardens…

I don't know why.

someone must have thought they were special. it fits into my "the palm is always greener on the other side (of the world) " theory, which simply

states that palm enthusiasts will always covet what seems exotic to them from OTHER parts of the world rather than their own. that is why

everyone in socal wants to grow a coconut, folks in indonesia go crazy over copernicia, and our own palm friend & forum member kris in india LOVES phoenix.

You're right Paul, and nobody in Sri Lanka understand when I stop the vehicle and make a photograph of Areca catechu's grove.

….And i am bored with Bentinckia nicobarica and dream about Clinostigma as I saw these species in hawaiian garden pictures here on Palmtalk.

Oh my God! Kumar, I don't know.

We all just must think it's a very common species people could get from any roadside, in Sri Lanka we don't have so much palm nurseries like in US or Australia.

We hardly have any here either! I really envy the members from those nations who have so much to choose from. For me, getting a palm is sheer chance!
