Hi folks,

Quiet day at work for me so thought I would share some pics of palm species that are flowering / fruiting for me here.

First up is Licuala ramsayii, this palm has flowered before but never set fruit.. Yet.

Next up is this large chambeyronia macrocarpa, this one has been flowering for a few years but only about 6 months ago finally gave me some viable fruit. I got good germination from them too!

Then this Gaussia maya, this has a funny fruiting habit. Inflo's have been on Palm for about 5 years with no action then suddenly fruit formed on the oldest inflo, ripened then bam... Fruit forming in the next oldest one and so on... Good fast germination on these too!!

Beccariophoenix sp. ( fenestralis from what I have read here recently? )

This palm seems to flower and produce fruit at the exact same time here every year, I seem to get good fruit every march / April. These also germinate very well for me.

Adonidia merillii, flower we'll but never set fruit. These palms don't love our winters here, they seem to just make it here.

Correct Troy, as I said a quiet day at work. I did plant all these palms many years ago so this is my second garden, the more mature one !!

Looking good there Ben...but no Clinostigma fruit? :)

Daryl

Gold Coast, Queensland Latitude 28S. Mild, Humid Subtropical climate. Rainfall - not consistent enough!

That's a negative Daryl, many inflo's over the last 4 years or so but no fruit. I am sure it's weather related, eg too dry??

I just hand pollinated a Euterpe with saved pollen, at least I hope it works! Surprised me how short the female flowers last -maybe 1 or 2 days, so timing is everything.
