Both B. grandiceps and B. macrophylla are currently available on eBay from a vendor in Thailand. If it's the same vendor I've purchased from some time back, they are honest, reputable and pretty quick, with good plant material. They are a highly rated seller. The only thing is you will have to figure about phyto certificates and what Guatemala requires. I'm sure you could call your ag agency and then send a message to the Thai vendor and work it out.

Sherry Ballester of www.viveroanones.com grows some and you may have even gotten heliconia seeds from her? I don't know if she collects seeds of her Brownea trees and so far I haven't been there at the right time to collect on our farm.

Since I received permission from her to post her name, for those of you who don't already know, she's the former owner of our farm in Puerto Rico and responsible for creating our dream come true!

Thanks, Cindy. Most of my heliconias came from Vivero Anones. I do check her seed list and have not seen any Brownea seeds yet.

Interesting looking plant, do they grow in the subtropics? There are some available here in Darwin (Australia)...

I would recommend contacting her even if Brownea seeds never make her list. That way if she saw a few ripe seeds she could could keep you in mind. I'll certainly let you know if I see any on my farm.
