On my last visit to a botanical garden I saw this nice Chamaedorea. Unfortunately it was one of the few that had no label. What would you say? What kind of species is it?

I'd also say C. oblongata, though there are similar-appearing species.

Perhaps get a closer close-up?

At first I thought mine had longer leaflets but went out and looked at it and it has both long and short fat leaflets, looks like oblongata to me, I'm no expert, I only have one.

Meg if you read this mine came from you by way of a friend of mine :)

That looks like C. klotzschiana. Note how the leaflets are grouped in clusters along the rachis. Very diagnostic.

I'll take your word for it Tom, all I know is what the plant marker says which isn't much to go on.

Note the difference between picture number 1 with the evenly spaced leaflets, and your picture with the clustered leaflets. Google images for C. klotzschiana and check out the leaf structure and see what you think.

Thanks all for your opinions...after looking up Google pics I'd also say it's C. oblongata and Rob's Palm is a C. klotzschiana.
