Went on a nursery run through the Sunshine Coast today and managed to acquire a number of stunning specimens including a Dypsis Cabade X Leptocheilos in a 200lt bag AND this Hyophorbe Cherry...

Sorry,

What is a Hyophorbe Cherry? a special H. lagenicaulis bearing fruits?

BTW: the horizontal pics have a bigger size than the vertical pics, so I prefer watching these and turn my head, these palms are really stunning!

Philippe, I was about to ask that same question. It looks kinda like a bottle/spindle cross.

I've sent a note to the bloke who sold this to me. As I understand this is a consistent Hybrid and bears fruit of the same plant. So yes it is a Spindle X Bottle and for me keeps the lovely traits of the bottle and the consistent form of the spindle - a perfect match!

I'll repost if he replies with anything different to this...

Andy...beautiful palms.....are you taking picture with a smartphone?....if so, you can avoid the sideways pictures by taking picture in horizontal position with the camera button on the right.

Here's the Dypsis Cabadae X Leptocheilos

Note how this one has canes that are dividing into 2

MAIN PIC WAS TOO BIG! Will repost later....

Well done Andy, you seem to be going through a hybrid phase over the last few weeks!

I'm running around like headless chook right now and when I find the time I'll join the IPS so I can post a gallery... mind you, I'm still making up for lost time so cant promise much of a palm legacy just yet!

YES. not much of that action when I started getting an interest so makes sense to find new species in unusual ways!
