Hi All,

My very happy Veitchia arecina has gone brown. It is also developed an alarmingly large hole and it's trunk. Any ideas? And suggestions? The palm has been going really fast and seemed really happy.

Darn it, I've had some casualties from this heat/dry too. Just noticed that Bentinkia stopped growing. This is going to be a dry nasty year I'm afraid

Yes. We get about a third more rain than the L.A. basin. All the rain comes between November and March, for the most part.
