Is there anyone growing Pholidocarpus macrocarpus? They have very colorful double yellow stripped petiole. They seem to be closely related to Livistona, but more tropical in nature with a hunger for water.. Heavily armed like L. saribus. I noticed that someone posted a pic of one in Pinecrest garden from the Biennial. Here are a few pics of small ones I have. They normally sit in a tray of water. Would like to hear any ones experience with these.

I've never grown that one but do have a couple of Pholidocarpus kingianus planted out here. They have survived low/mid 30sF so far without damage.

so there is some hope to grow them in zone 9a--- they look so much like Livistona saribus
