procera look fantastic Sunnie. do you have one growing in Brissie?

Welcome to PT by the way.

Thank you :) Sorry for the late reply!

I only bought a Dypsis procera the other week so I'll keep you posted. I just love the photos I have seen online.

The other Dypsis I have in my garden are Lutescens (Golden Cane); Albofarinosa (White Powder); Leptocheilos (Redneck) and Cabadae (Blue Cane).

I would love a Pembana and Lanceolata.

Have seen some beautiful Pembana in recent weeks and looking great despite a tough winter in Brissy. Well worth a place in your garden Sunnie

This is the retaining wall, made out of recycled railway sleepers. A pembana and a couple of lastelliana's will join the ambo up there when I earn a little bit more cash. Although it is Fathers day tomorrow. Hint hint Girls...

Ok another update pre mulching which will take place next week. There are 11 palms purchased and planted which I hope will grow to give a stunning effect. Fingers crossed.

What do you think??????

Sp dark mealy bug in the foreground with a brevanoidies to the right. Behind the retainer to the left is a pembana with two lastelliana's to the right as we look.

Hope this makes sense.

Left to right as we look.

pilulifera, pembana, lanceolata, carlsmithii, pembana, sp new redneck, lastelliana, sp dark mealy bug, lastelliana, brevanoisies. There is an ambositrae behind the mail box near the front door which I couldn't quite capture in this picture. More photos to come when mulching is complete.

Would love to have some feedback.

Cheers Ben for the help and advice and of course for the plants too.

Looks great to me mate!! It's your garden though, as long as your happy with it? I don't think it would be out of the question to add another 1 or 2, but it does look good now and should look awesome in a few years!!

Btw I think it might be illegal to mulch without having a beer afterwards??

i think Dypsis pembana is very underrated. mine's going to be one of the top layer canopy palms and is one of the faster palms i have. it's handled a few heatwaves now and during this last spell it got to very high 90°F around where I live and i would bet that temps where it's planted was around 105° since it's right up on a wall and in full all day sun

Ok Dypsis project finished.

2 pembana, 2 lastelliana, 1 lanceolata, 1 pilulifera, 1 carlsmithii, 1 dark mealy bug, 1 brevanoidies, 1 sp new redneck and 1 ambositrae.

Thanks for all your encouragement and positive feedback. All I need now is an awful lot of patience.

Here's a photo taken in 2012, I'm slightly embarrassed by it now but it does give you an idea how far the garden has come along.

Well mate, you did it, there were times there I thought you'd never get rid of that bamboo, a real credit to ya, the place look amazing, no more raking up those leaves anymore, your biggest chore now will be watering your palms. Looking forward to future pics
