While mowing today I notice lots of Native epiphyte's that are growing on palm trunks and yes they put themselves there NOT the 2 Philodendrons or the large Staghorn, they where placed to grow on the palms trunk.

What native or exotic epiphyte's or other plants do you have growing on your palm trunks to show, heres a few to get started.

Pete :)

We get a lot of Basket Ferns (Drynaria), Northern Elkhorn (Platycerium hillii) and Golden Orchids (Dendrobium discolor) coming up on trees around here.

my garden doesn't have anything with much of a trunk yet but I do have a bunch of bromeliads already that will eventually be mounted

Great pictures everyone.

Mike and I have just started to put orchid on our palms and I am concerned that when the fronds and/or seeds drop they will destroy the orchids. Also, our climate is pretty dry so I am finding that I need to spray them with a hose on a regular basis. Are there any orchids that can handle a drier climate?

Thanks,

Lee
