Look at this thing! I've been noticing that a lot of the queens around here are looking really good and healthy. I had to snap a photo of this one. With only about 7 feet of trunk look at the crown on this thing!

So try not to get too excited about Romanzofiana, I know it's a lot of people's favorite palm on here but just try to hold back your enthusiasm if you can!

Matt you just made me laugh!

Maybe if I wanted zero responses I could have titled it show us your queens! Lol

a couple of my neighbors have some fat ass queens. super thick trunks and extra long fronds with a very full crown. they looked pretty nice compared to the crap in the shopping centers

Posted

Still looks like a queen to me... :innocent:

It looks as if it's growing conditions improved as it matured. That's just my opinion based on the trunk as it looks to be thickening. There are a few around where I live that look very similar.

Looks like the house is in foreclosure so it probably stopped getting over trimmed and fattened up

Beautiful queen. I had a look around on streetview in North port and noticed quite some queens with short trunks and large somewhat flat crowns (healthy, no frizzle). Perhaps heavy soil?

Yeah I've been noticing a ton of rediculously robust queens lately. Sort of not the most exciting topic for palm talk but some of these little queens are monsters around here......... And then some are the ugliest most neglected pencil topped necrotic sad thirsty looking things lol

Same situation down here. 1 nice looking queen followed by 10 or more depressing examples. I there is some genetic component to it since a robust one can be growing within a few feet of sad ones.

That's the most beautiful queen I've ever seen. Makes ours look like the scullery maid.
