one of my neighbors across the street has this Dypsis lutescens that has real nice orange crownshafts and i'm always mesmerized when i walk by it daily. The crownshaft color looks much nicer in person especially on a sunny day but it has that heavy white powder on the crownshaft and maintains this orange color for quite awhile. it recieves very little care except for overpruning

That nice orange is the beginning stage of BROWN. That's not the palms doing, but a clipper friendly pruner.

A palm that is common but awesome in its own right. its pretty hard to get that much color out of a palm in california and still grow so easily :greenthumb:
